Turtle Bay was our first stop in Mexico. It had been hit by Hurricane Norma just 5 weeks before so we were expecting the town to be struggling but for such a rural town it was functioning very well. The stores were well stacked and they were selling fuel from the Pemex station. The fuel there has a reputation of containing water so care must be taken if fuel is needed.
The Haha fleet is the biggest thing to happen to the town each year and it coincides with Halloween so the kids are excited to see the crews coming ashore with their bags of candy. The anchorage is not safe in a storm but it is very comfortable in prevailing conditions. With the fleet in there was room for 100 more boats.
A group of dolphins swam through the fleet.
